Local charity, Partnership for Learning is one of the first organisations to benefit from the recent success announced by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) due to the increasing demand for the car manufacturer’s awarding winning Range Rover Evoque.
Over a three month period, Partnership for Learning Charity will welcome approximately 5000 people through its doors in Speke as part of JLR’s recruitment drive to increase their Halewood workforce by 1000 to cater for the global demand for the Land Rover Freelander 2 and the recently launched Range Rover Evoque.
The charity offers the ideal venue for JLR to conduct this project, offering 30 different purpose built training rooms which include a 150 seat theatre and a workshop big enough to house the body shell of an Evoque, which potential employees will be trained on.
The Chair of the Charity Maureen Leatherbarrow commented:
“We are so pleased to welcome Jaguar Land Rover and their new recruits to Partnership for Learning Charity Training Conference Centre. We are the only facility of this kind who can accommodate such a project and we are proud to be part of JLR’s success on Merseyside. The income generated from this will help our charity to deliver training and employment skills to people in South Liverpool and Knowsley which will hopefully encourage further investors to the area in future.”

Elvis took centre stage at Partnership for Learning Charity ‘s community Christmas event on Wednesday 14th December to make sure the older members of our community don’t have a ‘blue Christmas’!
This year, we’ve put our Liverpool conference facilities to good use. The festivities took place within the restaurant at Partnership for Learning Charity’s building, and included a Christmas lunch with all
the trimmings, entertainment and a selection of specially donated gifts from staff and clients to be handed out.
The highlight of the day was a special appearance from the King of Rock and Roll himself ‘Elvis Presley’ who took time out to give a performance of ‘Blue Christmas’ and share some of his dance moves with the guests!
The charity chose to invite older members of the community to help prevent social isolation in later life which often happens due to issues with mobility, financial constraints, illness or simply losing touch with family and friends.
Alby Flynn from Age UK Knowsley who brought some of the guests along for the day commented, ‘We work hard all year round to make sure the people we work with enjoy a happy and healthy later life. The Christmas event at Partnership for Learning was such a great success, that some of the guests didn’t want to leave!’
All surplus funds from the hire of training and Liverpool conference facilities at Partnership for Learning Charity, go towards supporting the local community of South Liverpool and Knowsley.
